Dr. Emin Taner ELMAS, Assistant Professor, is a Mechanical Engineering graduate born in Sivas in 1974 and registered in Kastamonu. He completed his PhD in Thermodynamics at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Ege University, and his Master's degree in Energy at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dokuz Eylül University. He also completed his undergraduate studies at Hacettepe University, Department of Mechanical Engineering, graduating with honors in 1995 as a mechanical engineer. Due to being first in his class at the end of his first three years, he was awarded a scholarship by the Chamber of Mechanical Engineers in his fourth year. He graduated from İzmir Atatürk High School in 1991. He completed his Reserved Officer service in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo, as a Second Lieutenant (2nd Lt.) English -Turkish Interpreter and also as a Guard Commander in the SFOR Multinational Peacekeeping Force under NATO. He holds two NATO Medals and a Turkish Armed Forces Service Commendation Certificate (Bosnia and Herzegovina). In addition to his academic duties at universities, he has worked as an engineer and manager in various industrial institutions, organizations, and companies. Dr. Emin Taner ELMAS is a faculty member at Iğdır University, serving as the Head of the Automotive Technology Department at Iğdır Technical Sciences Vocational School and as a faculty member in the Bioengineering and Sciences Department at the Graduate Education Institute. He has approximately 31 years of professional experience in academic and industrial fields. He has served and continues to serve as a scientific reviewer and panelist for numerous scientific institutions, organizations, and universities, including NASA, ASME, and TÜBİTAK. He has published numerous international and national academic scientific articles, books, and book chapters, and serves as an editor for international academic journals. He also serves on the scientific committees of many international conferences, publishing conference and congress papers and giving presentations.
Dr. Emin Taner ELMAS is also a musician, performing the saz (baglama) and the ney instrument (Turkish flute). He also plays the cümbüş and darbuka. He has a YouTube Music Channel (Emin Taner ELMAS) featuring recordings of him playing the saz-baglama and ney. He continues his artistic life as a writer, poet, composer, and instrumentalist, and is also working on various articles, books, poems, verses, prose, lyrics, compositions, and repertoire; he is also interested in photography.
